[Have a vision of Morgan casually reclining at her desk, closing the file in her hand and laying it on the surface in front of her with a nonchalant toss. A brightly colored scarlet Macaw is perched on the back of her chair, preening at his feathers but quiet.]

That's more like it, Admiral! I was hoping you'd put me back to work quickly.

[She now sits up properly and leans forward in her chair; the bird flutters his wings for a second before alighting to find a more sturdy place to rest.]

I'm looking for Dallas Winston.

If anyone ever wanted to feel like a horse's ass for going and having a little fun against their better judgment, the start of this week has been perfect for that.

The last few weeks, honestly, have been completely up and down, and I've had my fair share of ... well, moments of weakness. The fact that my Inmate has been out of commission and therefore hasn't been forced to suffer any of the backlash is inconsequential. I'm glad of it, but things of late have worn me down to the point that I haven't even got much of a pithy speech to make about solidarity; I don't even know if that's what I want anymore.

But whatever the case, whether we're with or against each other, I know just as well as anybody that a lot of Wardens have felt pushed -- by circumstances, by certain people, by these latest incidents.

Just consider your words more carefully before you decide to threaten before God and everyone else that you're giving up. Or have given up. You made a commitment to be here. Even if it's in defense of your Inmate, you have to realize how backward that is from the outset. You have to be stronger than that.

[Private to West and Billy]

...So I bought you both guilt presents.

Henry, how are you feeling?

Jim, Leia, Girls --

Don't go into town -- not before the gate and not after closing. Not alone, at any rate, and I wanna know when and where and how long before you do it.

No Johnnies tonight that Jim or I don't clear first. No negotiating that.

And keep an eye on the people tonight. If they're too edgy there's not gonna be a blow-off.

That was strange, and kind of relieving -- if not in bad taste. I'm feeling much better -- and Mason's overjoyed. I haven't been able to take him on long walks lately. But the more active I've gotten, the more --

Well.

Something I said to Martha when I got back here made me think on it. I called this place home. And the more I think about it the more I think I was right saying that. This place, for all its ups and downs, for all its craziness, is my home now. Not just a home away from home. I was born off the coast of Jamaica, but it's not my home anymore. I was the last Adams to sail those seas, and I'm sure it was time for more to come and take my place. I don't think I'll ever go back.

Sometimes I start to think I really won't ever leave. Not forever.

And I don't think it's a bad thing. Maybe because I chose to come here. It might be different for others who didn't get that choice -- and for them the object, I guess, is to leave eventually. To get their second chance and start a new life.

But what about making a life here?

[Private to West]

How are you feeling?

[Private to Billy]

Thanks for watching Mason and King Charles. ...How are you?
gimmethemap: (flood - pb pensive)
[bear-like yawning noises] Damn. I didn't even feel that.

Bringing Henry back out of the CES -- because he's tiny. Very. Very tiny. And edible to some of the larger things in here.

So yes. Coming out. If I can get the door open.

...And when I stop misplacing him.

Henry?

Goddamnit, monkey-- ...so I just found a trove of odds and ends in one of the chests in my room, and it's all things I've never seen before. Is anybody missing anything?

[Filtered to Wardens]

Refresh my memory. Day after the last flood, Shinzon got the stupid beaten out of him. Did anyone own up or get caught for it?

I have reason for asking.

EDIT: Who is Billy Costigan's Warden?

(ooc: Sooo Morgan caught West lying about where he was when the Shinzon beat-down happened. She can't PROVE he was involved, but she's going to try to get someone else to drop a name.

As for the Monkey thing. King Charles will nick anything from shiny stuff, anything looking like it holds money that he can carry, overly colorful things, tobacco, booze, pipes, etc. If you want in, take your pick.

I'm organizing a group to go out into port, observe, and try to locate some of our missing persons, maybe even the three that disappeared some days ago. I'd encourage similar groups to form, but please, people, don't be stupid and go off on your own. Groups of four or more, please.

Wardens, DO NOT arm Inmates that are not yours without permission from their Wardens first, if they are present.

Anyone wishing to go with my group may respond here.

(OOC: Okay, the first group is getting big. She said to break up into multiple groups, people :| Show some initiative. Also remember that there ARE people that are going to be needed for doing repairs and protecting the ship. Particularly if any outsiders try to board it.)

You could have at least put a few bottles or something in the kitchen for people to nick out of, Admiral. Sometimes this sobriety stuff is for the dogs, and I think you know that.

Is everything running all right in the kitchen? Supplies replenish in a few days, right?

[Everybody But Davros Filter] )

[Private to Libby]

Are you feeling all right?

[Private to JD and Henry]

I'm taking a hunting party to the CES sometime this week. Do either of you want to come?
gimmethemap: (cautious)
I hope you're happy.

[Edit Following the Conversation with Sexby - AUDIO]

Unless anyone has any further objections, get this ship locked down.

I'd also like to ask that all Wardens regroup and if they haven't already, mind the status and location of their Inmates. I also move that we try to handle this as a cohesive group and try not to relegate this to any one section of the Warden populus. I'm sure some of you don't like this turn of events but the number of lives lost and attempted murders since the outset have shown we can't come up with a solution until we put a stop to the killing and preempt any other attacks.

Cooperation from Wardens and Inmates alike will see this concluded quickly, and with less pain and suffering.
gimmethemap: (oh for pete's sake)
This is FUCKING RIDICULOUS.

I'm going to ask security's cooperation in enforcing a complete lockdown. All inmates not currently interned in Zero or here in the Infirmary: Get BACK to your cabins and I'll thank your Wardens to lock them behind you. No one is to be wandering the Halls without escort, and all working Inmates are to be accompanied to and from their shifts effective immediately.

And not one word of complaint from a single one of you or so help me GOD I'm going to hobble out of here and add to the body count MYSELF.

GET MOVING.

I'm okay.

Gonna be in the Infirmary for a few days -- that's about how long it'll take before I get antsy and just walk out. Expect it.

Is it Nightcrawler? Thanks for stepping in and helping me. I know I was pretty grumpy before, but I was also kind of a human pin-cushion before.

[Filtered to the Female Denizens of the Barge]

Don't take this like I feel like every delicate flower on this ship needs shielding; I know most of you can hold your own in a fight. But stay away from Victor Creed. I don't identify with all of you. I don't hold myself to the same standards I hold other women, so just know that the fact that I'm coming out and saying this really means something. I'm saying that to all of you specifically, because he wouldn't have attacked me if I weren't a woman. If you have to tangle with him, use only killing blows. If you've got a gun, shoot him in the head. Nothing else is going to work. If you don't do this, you are going to lose. Keep your audio links on your person and within poking distance at all times -- don't be too proud to call for help.

That includes you, Rayne. ...And thanks.

[Filtered to Henry West]

Be cautious around this guy. Creed. Someone's already posted a Warning before. I see what you do. But I'm not even asking or telling you to stay away from him; I'm ordering you to stay away, and don't interact with him unless you absolutely have to. You pass that on to Billy.
gimmethemap: (geez)
So West. About that water.

I found some more. And I don't think it'll evaporate as soon as we pull it out again.

There's a problem, however.

[Cue random giggles in the background. Morgan makes a frustrated noise.]

I feel like I've been asleep for a week, and not really in a good way. I come out and we've got a whole floor of new people I haven't gotten to know yet. Not that I've been too terribly social with many to begin with. Maybe a word or two to a few people since that last party in the pub. So -- on my part, sorry. We'll catch up sooner or later.

[Private to Security and Dr. Mccoy]

I think I'm all right to go back to my room now, if that's okay. Besides, King Charles hasn't had anyone looking after him, and I know he'd just make a mess in the infirmary -- not to mention get into some things he probably shouldn't. Do the lot of you still want to confiscate my weapons or I can I have my pistols back, now?

[Private to West]

How are you holding up?

[Private to Rayne]

You all right?

[Private to Admiral Kirk]

It's a little late, but are you up for that drink and the tour now? You did say anytime.

I could write another entry about how much I enjoyed myself in Port, but it's clear that there are some people here who didn't, and I'm sorry I wasn't a little more alert.

I'll call it an overall success when we don't have people being killed or tormented. If we go by that standard then the only one we can call 'successful' so far was the stop in Disneyland.

Having said that, I'd like to personally commend Henry West for going out of his way to bring Rose Tyler safely back to the Barge.

[Private to West]

Henry, I'd like to have a drink with you in my cabin and talk about some things. Will you join me after dinner?
gimmethemap: (OYYY)
Here are the notes I have taken to do with what was discussed and generally agreed upon at the meeting. Anyone with any questions or additions should post here.

Wardens, I encourage you to take a little time to discuss these proposals with your Inmates. You are their representatives. Make note of their own questions, or objections, and whether you say yay or nay on putting these into effect, try to let their concerns factor into that. It's about doing what's best for them, after all.

Items that were discussed )
gimmethemap: (cautious)
Contact me or Rupert Giles if Ralph Cifaretto bothers either you or Billy again.

(ooc: no entry number because having it wind up as entry number 69 is a bit much)

We need to talk.

I decided I'd best give you some privacy, but I know you're back. I'm not trying to ignore you.

Are you okay? Do you remember where you went?

[Private to Major West]

Major,

For the time being, I want to walk you down to the Dining Hall for mealtimes. All right? And I want you to tell me if you're going anywhere else before you do it.

Before you overreact, this is not about anything that you have done or that I think you're going to do. Please, just do this for me. All right?

[/Private]

Great Healer, I took notice of your conversation with my Inmate, Major Henry West. I should like to know what 'likeness' it is that you spoke of.
gimmethemap: (you're right)
Listen -- I don't know how every conversation we have seems to turn into an argument, and believe it or not I really don't ever intend for it to start that way.

Can we sit and talk sometime? No agendas. I just want to clear the air.
