So uhm --

[Morgan rubs the back of her head.]

They're gone. Henry's gone.

[She nods, more to herself than anything.]

It just feels strange, I guess. I just --

[No. She shakes that thought away.]

I'm going to go away for a while. Visit the Morningstar, wherever she is. See my crew. Check in. But I'm coming back in a few days, barge-time. Just need to get my head clear before I can really think about getting back on the horse.

But I uh -- need someone to look after the animals. King Charles is coming with me but I think Poor Joe and Mason should stay here. Is there anyone willing to keep an eye on them for me?

[This is Morgan, in a nice little house dress. She seems to have a radiant, healthy glow about her on account of the fact that she appears to be very, very pregnant. For obvious reasons, this also appears to distress her, seeing as how she didn't have a belly this size BEFORE she came into port, and most women with child get the upshot of being able to gradually settle into it.]

I think I need a doctor.

[She shifts nervously]

And I am seeing WAY too many tiny bodies in these family pictures, so sound off. How many children are in this house, and why in God's name is this woman having another one?

Henry?

I don't know about anyone else but when this is over I'm writing a very strongly worded letter to the Admiral about not bringing deities onto the ship anymore as Inmates.

[Private to Henry West and Dr Horrible]

Henry and Billy: Respond and state your location. Filtered if you have to. Are you still you?
gimmethemap: (devious smile)
This definitely isn't a tradition I had at home, but since it produces some results here I don't mind taking part. It's kind of nice, since we can't always go shopping, and now seems to be the time to give presents to everyone.

So here you go, Santa Claus:

Private - List of Presents Below - West & Billy, Libby, Kirk, Data, Facilier, Adam, the Sexbys, Paddy, and everyone else )

For me - I want a hat. Newsboy type. The kind Rube used to wear.
gimmethemap: (arms folded)
The person responsible for killing Mister Donowitz's Inmate has been identified. I've taken him to Level Zero.
gimmethemap: (try that again)
So the other night. Your floor. Clapet. Do you want to tell me what happened?

I need to have a word with you. Is now a bad time?

[Private to the Admiral]

Please bring back the Marquis' dog and repair his door.

If anyone ever wanted to feel like a horse's ass for going and having a little fun against their better judgment, the start of this week has been perfect for that.

The last few weeks, honestly, have been completely up and down, and I've had my fair share of ... well, moments of weakness. The fact that my Inmate has been out of commission and therefore hasn't been forced to suffer any of the backlash is inconsequential. I'm glad of it, but things of late have worn me down to the point that I haven't even got much of a pithy speech to make about solidarity; I don't even know if that's what I want anymore.

But whatever the case, whether we're with or against each other, I know just as well as anybody that a lot of Wardens have felt pushed -- by circumstances, by certain people, by these latest incidents.

Just consider your words more carefully before you decide to threaten before God and everyone else that you're giving up. Or have given up. You made a commitment to be here. Even if it's in defense of your Inmate, you have to realize how backward that is from the outset. You have to be stronger than that.

[Private to West and Billy]

...So I bought you both guilt presents.

Henry, how are you feeling?
gimmethemap: (frustrated)
Shit. ...Shit. [a shaky, possibly tearful sigh as the audio cuts out]

[Private to the Admiral]

L-Look, I realize this isn't an Inmate request but can you... please? Just bring him back and don't let him remember it.

[/Private]

[sounding tired but somewhat dire]

Have many people been coming into the infirmary lately? Just out of curiosity.

...Henry, are you and Billy all right?

(ooc: So...Morgan's been pointedly keeping it together since she came back but has been a lot more jumpy when she's either asleep or just waking up, and the flood just made that a lot worse. So what was an affectionate dog just nuzzling her hand for attention triggered a "wake up and defend yourself" response and...yeah :|)

That was strange, and kind of relieving -- if not in bad taste. I'm feeling much better -- and Mason's overjoyed. I haven't been able to take him on long walks lately. But the more active I've gotten, the more --

Well.

Something I said to Martha when I got back here made me think on it. I called this place home. And the more I think about it the more I think I was right saying that. This place, for all its ups and downs, for all its craziness, is my home now. Not just a home away from home. I was born off the coast of Jamaica, but it's not my home anymore. I was the last Adams to sail those seas, and I'm sure it was time for more to come and take my place. I don't think I'll ever go back.

Sometimes I start to think I really won't ever leave. Not forever.

And I don't think it's a bad thing. Maybe because I chose to come here. It might be different for others who didn't get that choice -- and for them the object, I guess, is to leave eventually. To get their second chance and start a new life.

But what about making a life here?

[Private to West]

How are you feeling?

[Private to Billy]

Thanks for watching Mason and King Charles. ...How are you?
gimmethemap: (going to regret this later)
[The Morgan Adams that appears on camera is exhausted with only a few stitches of the clothes she left in are still there -- some replaced with soiled but more modern staples and some obviously 21st century weaponry. Mixed with the dirt on her person there's also some noticeable blood. Her breath is a little shallow, like she's been running, or carrying something heavy.]

If some of you hadn't noticed -- I found him. We're home.

[A breath.]

I need a doctor.

(ooc: Soooo, Morgan wound up in 28 Days Later-verse and had to follow her compass some fifty some-odd miles to where West was. Killing infected along the way and trying to stay alive. Since she made much of the journey on foot and had to make many stops to take cover, and then only managed to find him as he was being killed, she's had a rough week. She shot Mailer -- probably more times than necessary, and dragged what was left of West's body through the nearest door to return home. But she's got a few injuries and field dressings that could stand to have a real med person look at them.)
gimmethemap: (I'll handle this)
[When Morgan turns on the video feed, she's fully decked out -- in her best coat, covered in belts and holsters much as she has been in the last port. She's not looking at the screen, but rather up and around at something she clearly can't see.]

Three years, Admiral, that I've been here, and I've been absolutely loyal, and I have always trusted you.

Well -- now I'm calling in a favor.

[She takes an envelope off her desk -- a letter from JD -- and slips it into her jacket.]

I'm not takin' another Inmate until I'm finished with the one I got -- and I'll decide when that happens. So you either send me after him so I can bring him back, or you send me home.

[The room around her visibly brightens on screen -- a dog begins barking in the background, and Morgan looks about briefly before fixing her stare on the camera.]

I'm not coming back without him.

[And then she's just gone, though the room seems unchanged as the light returns to normal. The barking continues.]

(ooc: So...Morgan's going after West to bring him home. She'll be returning when he does. Her room will stay as is, and Billy's halfheartedly agreed to look after her animals while she's away, so -- brief hiatus until soon!)

[Have an angry Morgan appearing on camera -- the room in the background appears to be bare and featureless]

Admiral, where the FUCK is he?!

(ooc: Morgan's Item blipped and went dead, and she just found West's room empty. Yeah :|)

[Private to the Admiral]

Admiral, I need whatever counts for camping equipment. Bed rolls. Flints. Water canteens. Tarpaulin. Enough for two. And a means for two people to carry it all.

Before tomorrow morning, if you don't mind.

[Public]

Henry, tomorrow first thing: put on some clothes and boots you won't mind getting dirty and meet me on the main deck.

To everyone else, you're not going to be seeing either myself or my Inmate for a while. Ask your questions or say your goodbyes tonight.

Goddamnit, monkey-- ...so I just found a trove of odds and ends in one of the chests in my room, and it's all things I've never seen before. Is anybody missing anything?

[Filtered to Wardens]

Refresh my memory. Day after the last flood, Shinzon got the stupid beaten out of him. Did anyone own up or get caught for it?

I have reason for asking.

EDIT: Who is Billy Costigan's Warden?

(ooc: Sooo Morgan caught West lying about where he was when the Shinzon beat-down happened. She can't PROVE he was involved, but she's going to try to get someone else to drop a name.

As for the Monkey thing. King Charles will nick anything from shiny stuff, anything looking like it holds money that he can carry, overly colorful things, tobacco, booze, pipes, etc. If you want in, take your pick.

Y'know I've gotten so used to changing during that flood, myself, that I kinda forgot how much fun it is to watch everyone else run around for a change. ...No more than a couple at a time, though. Cute as some of you are when you're little, you're fucking terrifying as a swarm. You'd think I would have remembered what it was like in Pleasantville. But that's what you get for forgetting the past. It just happens all over again.

[Private to JD]

Want to play some cards?

[Private to West]

So...day after everybody grew up again. What'd you get up to?
gimmethemap: (Default)
Ohhh, that doesn't sound good.

[clears throat]

Henry? Henry West and Billy -- whatever your last name is. Please respond!

I'm organizing a group to go out into port, observe, and try to locate some of our missing persons, maybe even the three that disappeared some days ago. I'd encourage similar groups to form, but please, people, don't be stupid and go off on your own. Groups of four or more, please.

Wardens, DO NOT arm Inmates that are not yours without permission from their Wardens first, if they are present.

Anyone wishing to go with my group may respond here.

(OOC: Okay, the first group is getting big. She said to break up into multiple groups, people :| Show some initiative. Also remember that there ARE people that are going to be needed for doing repairs and protecting the ship. Particularly if any outsiders try to board it.)

Admiral, If I can pride myself on anything, it's my ability to trust your judgment in most circumstances. But bringing Jim here and then having him disappear again? I don't know if it's occurred to you, but this is the THIRD TIME he's been here, and each time it seems to either prove every poor thought that West ever had of him while adding another few, or he's here for too little time to ascertain much about him at all.

I can't help my Inmate if you keep opening the wound, and not giving him any time to work through all of this or come to some understanding with an enemy? Really not helping him. All you're doing by dangling that boy in front of his nose is justifying his behavior and I'll not have anyone undermining my job here. Not even you. You're cheating him, and you're cheating me.

Not for nothing, but I need you to give me something I can show my Inmate. Anything to make him think you're true to your word about his men, at least, because what you're doing to him, and by extension making me do, is beyond the pale.

Y'know, I'm not saying I'd get a dog to keep full time, but after a few weeks it's taking a while to get used to not having one in the room. ...King Charles misses Mason, too.

[Private to Libby]

I'm sorry I lost my temper the other night. I shouldn't have called you names.

[Private to West]

Are you ready to get out and stretch your legs?
