It's good to know what I am, at least. Tony and I were wondering. He tried explaining, something about reforming others, but... I don't think I'm the man for that particular job.
West?! He's here?! Oh my god--
[The shaky handwriting abruptly ends as Jim drops the journal. He spends the next several moments making sure that every lock is bolted on his door. For extra safety, he drags a desk over as a barricade, then a chair on top of that for good measure]
Now I want you to read what I'm saying to you very carefully, Jim. Henry West has been here for some months and he has made suitable progress, but any situation that's even vaguely resembled the hell you two came from throws him off course. Your arrival here hasn't created too many ripples, yet, but I sent you to your quarters and had him immediately confined just in case.
There's at least one other person on the barge that looks similar to you, and he did not react too well when he thought you were here the first time. I figured it was the safest option.
I am completely aware of Major West's past deeds; they were given to me in full detail. You'll be given information on any Inmate that you take on as well; it's important that we each know them intimately so that we can help them.
I've taken his door away for the time being, so he cannot come visit you unwanted.
But listen -- if you're fresh from that place, yourself, then you're probably going to have to take time to come down from it. I'd rather discuss the rest of this with you in person. Maybe after you've had time to relax and see the place.

Progress?! A man like that does not make progress! Tell me, has he tried to enslave you yet, Miss? Or did he not share with you his views on women?
Thank you for telling me... my room is now barricaded from him, though I doubt it'll help.
...
Wait. Someone looks like me?
