A week is too much to ask? Someone on this boat couldn't go a single week without making trouble again. Well, I hope you enjoyed yourself.

Why the Hell did that little girl want a squirrel, anyway? They're rats with flashier outfits.

I think they're rather cute. Even so, I'm glad we didn't make it to that room.

I would have been bumped off in the previous room, so you would have had to go it alone--well, you and the Master, anyway, and I can't imagine him trying to help you with it.

I didn't say he'd make it worse...just that he wouldn't do anything to make it better. There's a big difference.

You could have gotten away with it, too. Veruca's parents might have put up a bit of a fuss, but in the end she always got exactly what she wanted.

Except for that squirrel.

Well...none of the children in the book swore, so maybe they really never had.

The book is from a more reserved time. I imagine children who swore then would have been spanked for it, or at least had their mouth washed out with soap.

I'm with you on that first part, although I can't say I agree with corporal punishment for children in any situation. We're also from two different times, so...
