I'm not saying that killing a murderer on this barge would completely reform them or teach them to be a better person. I never said that.

And bear in mind also, Mister Tyler, that I'm not trying to get anything going here. I'm thinking aloud, and if you really do think I'm wrong, then I do want to hear why, but rather than just assent I'd rather try to get it all out in the open.

If people here stopped killing each other because they were afraid of being killed for it, then I can't help but think that's better. If there's anything a person should fear, it's getting killed. And for the people committing murder, that fear doesn't really exist here. Not when we've got cells and a person with a clipboard ready to validate their claims that they cannot be held responsible for their actions.

I'm not saying that all counseling amounts to that, either. I worry that it could, though.

Believe me, I want for these people to reform. I want this place to work. I believe in the cause, and I believe in the Admiral.

Tell me what I can do to help, Mister Tyler, and I'll do my best, but these thoughts are still here. I know I'm not the only one who's getting frustrated, and I'd honestly rather be talked down than just keep it to myself and always doubt.
